The Summer Northern & Contemporary Art Auction, at The Cheshire Saleroom, Macclesfield.
The sale began with an impressive group of bronzes, featuring two animalier works by Adrian Sorrell and Lucy Kinsella.

Lot 4 LUCY KINSELLA (born 1960); bronze sculpture, 'Bounding Hare', Sold £1,600
A strong print section followed, showcasing pieces by Sir Terry Frost, L.S. Lowry, Henri Matisse, David White, Geoffrey Key, Harold Riley, and Doug Hyde.
Highlights from the drawings, sketches & watercolours include three original pencil works by L.S. Lowry. Among them were Lot 59, A Tanker (sold £22,000) and Lot 60, St John’s Church, Deansgate (sold £21,400).
One of the most striking works in the auction was Lot 130, Burst of Light, Crib Goch, an oil painting by the highly regarded Welsh artist Sir Kyffin Williams, sold for £15,500.
The sale continued with a rich selection of vibrant oils by Donald Macintyre, Marcel Dyf, Edith Le Breton, Harold Riley, Pierre Adolphe Valette, and Trevor Grimshaw.
