21/04/2017 : Highlights from the April Sale

Here are some highlights from the Two Day Auction of Antiques & Fine Arts with Sporting, Militaria, Clocks & Barometers.

With over 2,700 lots auctioned over two days, this was the biggest auction Adam has ever held in the almost ten years that he has been at The Cheshire Saleroom, Macclesfield. The team behind the auction worked incredibly hard to get everything together, catalogued and lotted in time for the sale on 6th & 7th April but everything came together for one of the most succesful and exciting auctions Adam Partridge Auctioneers has known.

It has been very difficult to choose the highlights from such a large number of lots, but here are a few from the auction:

An 18ct yellow gold quadrillion cut diamond cluster ring, the large central stone weighing approx 3ct (Certificated F/G, VVS) above 2 trillion cut stones and thirty eight further diamonds to the stepped shoulders, ring size Q, approx 9.5g. Presented with GIA Graduate Gemologist certificate. This lovely piece eventually sold to a buyer in the room for £13,600.

This piece by VAN CLEEF & ARPELS; an 18ct gold 'black platinum' ruby and diamond necklace, the openwork linked chain set with diamonds to every bracket supporting an octagonal pendant drop centred with a natural ruby weighing approx 5.75ct, within a border of diamonds, stamped 'Van Cleef & Arpels, Made in France 23820', and each gold link inscribed 'S-te.A' (Société anonyme Arpels), overall length 41cm, approx 83g. Presented with GIA Graduate Gemologist certificate. This realised £8200 to a determined bidder in the room.

A pair of 19th century Italian marble columns each with brass scrolling capitals and acanthus leaf decorated square section feet, height 172cm achieved £5800.

The Auction of Antiques & Fine Art with Asian Art & Musical Instruments will take place on Thursday 18th May and Friday 19th May 2017 at The Cheshire Saleroom, Macclesfield with viewing taking place on Wednesday 17th May 2017 from 10am until 8pm.
