15/03/2012 : The Willows Clearance Sale
The Willows Variety Centre in Salford has gone into administration after 40 years of business in the entertainment industry. Due to this unfortunate event, Adam Partridge Auctioneers have been asked to hold an on-site auction at the centre on March 17th to sell off all of the items in the building before its demolition. The items up for sale are massively varied and include such things as: commercial kitchen fittings (dishwashers, ovens, glasswashers etc.); a massive quantity of cutlery, crockery and glassware; a large amount of dining furniture and much much more.
The centre is next to the Willows Stadium which was the ground of Salford City Reds rugby league team until 2012 when they moved to their new home, The City of Salford Stadium. There are four main rooms in the 50,000 sq ft complex that have held cabarets, conferences, live shows and weddings: The Cabaret Lounge, the Platinum Suite, the Lowry Suite and the Riley Suite, each with their own bars and kitchens. As the building is scheduled for demolition, everything really must go including many light fittings, paintings and pictures.
