The first sale of 2013; Antiques and Fine Art, on the 31st January and 1st February, although small was a success with several interesting lots.

An 18ct gold ring with a diamond of 1.5cts was the biggest seller of the auction bringing in a hammer price of £3,600. Jewellery in general did well with an 18ct gold bracelet fetching £2,000 and an 18ct gold sapphire ring making £1,650.

Paintings also did very well with oils by Louis B. Hurt (£3,000), Thomas Sidney Cooper (£1,850) and one attributed to Fritz Zuber-Buhler (£1,950) all making their mark, along with a watercolour by William Allingham which made £1,450.

Other good results include a set of eleven Victorian ash and elm smoker's chairs (£1,900), a Victorian hallmarked silver canteen of King's pattern cutlery (£1,450), and a George VI hallmarked silver rectangular twin handled tray (£1,400).
