04/02/2014 : January Auction Report
The first sale of 2014 brought in some terrific prices with clocks and English pottery selling well.
The biggest price of the day was £12,500 for a 17th century English Delft drug jar, with £11,000 for a large Edwardian longcase clock close behind. In fact, the large collection of clocks in the sale certainly proved popular, with 8 more of them selling for four figure sums. Other good prices include £2,400 for a Japanese carved ivory netsuke depicting a boy restraining a bull, £2,250 for a lovely Edwardian satinwood display cabinet, £1,300 for an autograph album including Royalty, politicians, etc, and £1,150 for a 5" gauge model of a GWR class tank engine.
If you have anything that you would like to know the value of, or sell at auction, then come along to one of our valuation days. They are held every Monday in Macclesfield, Tueday in Altrincham and Wednesday in Liverpool.
