Over 1200 lots grace the Cheshire saleroom for the first sale of 2013. Day one includes the wonderful Bernard Popland collection of fencing items, including a rare ceramic plaque (pictured) and his library of rare 18th and 19th century books.
Other sections on day one include collectors' items with a portrait miniature by Horace Hone (pictured), books, ephemera, scientific instruments, militaria, ceramics, decorative arts with a Winchcombe Pottery slip decorated vase by Michael Cardew, Doulton and Beswick, Glass, Oriental, Paintings and Northern Art.
Day 2 features over 140 lots of silver including an enamel erotic cigarette case (£200-£300, pictured), over 150 lots of jewellery and watches and nearly 200 lots of furniture. A superb collection of clocks will also be offered on day 2 and include a Victorian mahogany bracket clock inscribed "J Schwerer Truro" (£2,000-£3,000), a late 19th century ebonised quarter chiming bracket clock (£3,000-£5,000, pictured), two 19th century skeleton clocks, a 19th century French brass striking and repeating carriage clock and many more.
Viewing is Wednesday 30th January 10am-8pm and 9am-10am on the morning of both sale days.
