"I've a one track mind, sir. Poverty and gloom. Never a joyous picture of mine you'll see.Always gloom. I never do a jolly picture." L.S Lowry.

This auction presents three works by Salford's favourite son. Interestingly, each work is created using different mediums. Lot 779 is a lithograph, entitled "A Street Full of People"  which has been estimated at £6,000 - £8,000. It is followed by Lot 817 which is a pencil study of "Study for the River Irwell at The Adelphi" and is expected to achieve between £10,000 and £15,000. Finally, in this trio, is an oil painting named "Cloaked Figure" and this sinister fellow has been valued at £20,000 - £30,000.

Along with the rest of the country, the team at Adam Partridge Auctioneers have been caught up in the Football World Cup so it seems only right that this Harold Riley oil on canvas should be featuring in this auction. This piece is entitled "Football Match" and is a study of the Manchester Derby being fought out at Manchester City's former home, Maine Road. It has been valued at £15,000 - £20,000. Riley is now as popular has he has ever been so some heated bidding is expected for this lot.

With the good weather well and truly upon us, we have several appealing items in our Garden & Architectural section. These Victorian garden benches must surely have been designed with long summer evenings and long 'sloe' drinks in mind.

We have a large collection of Arts & Crafts in this auctions silver collection. Lots 1110 - 1115 is a lovely group of napkins rings with estimates ranging from £50 - £150. Lots 1132 and 1133 are sets of Edwardian and Georgian coffee spoons and have been valued at £50 - £80 and £40 - £60, respectively. A cigarette case (Lot 1181, est £400 - £600) and a card case (Lot 1200, est £100 - £150) complete this enticing line up.
