18/10/2011 : Catalogue now online - third anniversary two day auction, 27th & 28th October 2011

Over 2100 lots divided into 38 Specialist Sections. The catalogue for our two day sale of Antiques and Fine Art with a specialist section for Oriental and Eastern Works of Art is now online at It is our biggest auction to date and a fitting way to commemorate our third anniversary of trading and our impending move to new premises in Macclesfield.

Amongst a wonderful selection of lots in 38 specialist sections, the auction features two particularly special highlights.

100 UNSEEN LOWRY SKETCHES - lots 1000 to 1049.

At the forefront of the Northern Art section is a collection of over 100 pencil sketches by LS Lowry from an unseen collection given to the vendors mother by the artist. Estimates range from 300 to 3000.
Northern Art starts at lot 1000 from 8pm on Day 1 - Thursday 27th October.

To coincide with Asian Art Week in London, this auction features an excellent specialist section for Oriental/Asian works of art and we have been working with our consultant, Dr Eldon Worrall, an internationally renowned specialist in this field and author of many publications.

The leading lot, pictured beside this article (lot 1777) is an 18th century Chinese Imperial blue ground vase, Jiaqing (1796 - 1820) mark and period. Brought in to one of our valuation days held every Monday, this is a rare vase, and despite the restoration to the rim, should attract a huge level of interest.

Amongst many other items of note are a massive 18th century celadon planter (lot 1780), numerous items from the Ming Dynasty including pottery and bronzes, a selection of jade and ivory carvings and many other items.

This auction is being marketed extensively as part of Asian Art Week 2011 and promises to be the most important Asian Art auction the region has seen.

Asian Art starts at lot 1701 from 4pm on Day 2 - Friday 28th October.

There are 10 fantastic prizes on offer for participating and we will be very grateful for every nomination. It would certainly be a fitting way to celebrate our third anniversary.

Three years since our first auction in October 2008, we have sold over 4 million worth of antiques to all corners of the globe. From humble beginnings in a home office and storage unit, we are now preparing to move to our new premises in Macclesfield (15,000 square feet) which, along with our Liverpool saleroom which opened earlier this year, will make us the biggest independent auction house in the region. Our new address is Unit 1, Withyfold Drive, Macclesfield, SK10 2BD.

The Liverpool saleroom is going from strength to strength with sales improving every month. Auctions are held monthly, typically on the first Wednesday - next auction on 2nd November. A specialist maritime auction is scheduled for 11th April 2012 to coincide with the centenary of the Titanic and a number of high profile entries have already been consigned.
