Friday 8th November: Lots 1-446
Over 400 lots of Orie ntal works of art include a wide variety of ceramics dating from the Song dynasty (1127-1279) through to the late Qing period and Republic period (1912-1949). Various private collections include a fine selection of Kangxi porcelain blue and white vases, early porcelain including celadon from the Longquan kilns, various shipwreck pieces from Bin Thuan, Hoi An, Ca Mau and fifty lots of Tek Sing cargo.
Other media of Oriental art include fine jade carvings, a wonderful pair of Japanese ivory tusk vases, Canton ivory card cases and fans, a fine 18th/19th century rhinoceros horn carving, rock crystal, soapstone, fine agate snuff bottles, bronzes, silver, furniture, a collection of paintings on rice paper, Japanese satsuma ware by the celebrated Kinkozan family of artists, and much more, not to mention a fine collection of Chinese scroll paintings including Fan Zeng.
