Coinciding with Asian Art Week, this 2,000 lot auction has a fantastic Oriental and Asian section featuring a huge 18th/19th century Chinese vase on a profusely carved Huanghuali and marble stand (£5,000 - £8,000), a large Chinese porcelain moon flask with Kangxi mark and of the period (£1,200 - £1,500), a Chinese porcelain enamel decorated wig stand, Daoguang seal mark to base (£500 - £800), a Japanese Meiji period Shibayama table cabinet (£400 - £600), an 18th century Chinese mutton fat jade snuff bottle (£400 - £600), and a 19th century Chinese Huanghuali and marble chair (£1,500 - £2,000).
All of our usual sections are well represented and feature some fascinating lots such as a Victorian set of jockey scales (£3,000 - £4,000), a large Regency mahogany dining table with six additional leaves in the manner of Gillows (£3,000 - £5,000), a George III mahogany longcase clock by Samuel Jackson, London (£2,000 - £3,000), an album containing two watercolours by Macclesfield artist Charles Frederick Tunnicliffe (£600 - £800), a good collection of art including a pair of watercolours and a set of four oils by John Frederick Herring Jnr (watercolours £800 - £1,200, oils £25,000 - £35,000), works by Harrington Bird (£2,000 - £3,000), Marcus Stone (£15,000 - £20,000), Pierre Angillis (£8,000 - £12,000), James Alfred Turner (£5,000 - £8,000), and Henry and William Barraud (£10,000 - £15,000), as well as a fine collection of mechanical music including items from the collection of Stuart Hall.
