JOHN GLOVER (1767-1849); a large oil on canvas, castle ruin beside an inlet with figure in a dinghy and three further figures on the shoreline, unsigned, 77 x 113cm, in broad foliate decorated gilt frame. It is believed that the view is of Carew Castle in Pembrokeshire and has been in the vendor's family since at least before WWII.

Condition Report

Crazing particularly heavy in some areas, needs a clean, frame damaged, sits low in the frame. Wear to the upper edge with some loss to the paintwork. Strange colouring where part of another ship is depicted in the distance - looks unfinished, see picture.
