(D) Included in the lot is the purchase note from The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition June 23rd 1969, with catalogue number 133 (also numbered recto), with title, artist details and purchase details being Mrs Joan Macdonald and also included with the lot is a handwritten letter from John Nash to Joan Macdonald inscribed 'Dear Joan, It was nice to hear your voice again t'other evening at Flatford. I am writing to ask you what you would like me to do about your picture at The R.A. The show closes on July 27th and works have to be removed by August 2nd. Is there any likelihood of your fetching it away or shall I instruct my agent to send it to you? I should have written before but have been rather fussed by Christine being ill. However, she is now much better. Can you drop me a line this week? We hope to see you when we come to Flatford. Best wishes, yours, John.'
