A large and impressive Belgian group of 31 medals to Hubert van Nerum, a Belgian spy, including Knight of the Order of Leopold (1940-1945), Knight of the order of Leopold second, Knight in the Order of the Crown, a USA Firing Squad Medal, Croix de la Victoire, etc. At the age of 17 Hubert van Nerum joined the resistance movement following the German occupation of Belgium. Over the next four years he acted as courier, spy, saboteur and finally head of a resistance movement helping to pinpoint targets for Allied attack by air. He also assisted downed airmen to return to the UK and circulated clandestine press throughout the war. He evaded the Gestapo and assumed a new identity until the Allied invasion. Accompanying this impressive medal group is a personal scrap album with a series of Flemish newspaper articles on Belgian resistance activities during the war, photographs of van Nerum with various other war veterans, certificates for all of his medals, clasps, identity papers, etc.

A WWII RAF casualty medal group of four to 185570 Pilot Officer J.A.Wynn, RAF Voluntary Reserves, comprising Air Crew Europe Star, France and Germany bar, 1939/45 Star, 1939/45 War medal and the Defence medal. Pilot Officer JA Wynn was killed in action on 29th November 1944 during a pathfinder mission in a Lancaster bomber. The medals come with original cardboard box.
