REBECCA APPLEBY; 'Constructed Route', a large white-bodied slab sculpture, covered in multi-layered white, black and grey slip decorated with ceramic chalks and pencil, maximum diameter 66cm. (D) Rebecca Appleby uses clay as a canvas to examine the ever-present cohabitation and conflict between industry and nature, exploring crossovers between the organic and the urban, resulting in daring and dynamic curving sculptures covered in impulsive drawings. She won Ceramic Review's 'Newcomer to Ceramic Art London Award' in 2016. This recent body of work forms part of her Urban Palimpsest series.
